NEW YORK (AP) A mob hit, carried out with the help of information provided by an F-B-I agent.
It's not just a plotline from The Sopranos authorities say it really happened in 1990.
But a judge in New York says too much time has passed, so he's throwing out the murder case against a Las Vegas limo driver who was accused in the slaying.
The judge says prosecutors violated the rights of John Sinagra to have a speedy trial when they let more than 15 years pass before charging him.
Sinagra's lawyer says he was released from jail yesterday, and is "very thankful" for the ruling.
Prosecutors say they'll appeal the ruling. And they say they'll continue with their case against the former F-B-I agent who's also charged.
Prosecutors say in return for bribes, the agent fed information that allowed a Colombo family boss to kill rivals and others.
