The Struggle to TAKE BACK Pacifica (Yes, Again) Starts HERE

The first shot of the current struggle over Pacifica was fired from this web site. Now, the Pacifica board has joined in.

BREAKING NEWS: In closed session last week, members of the the KPFK advisory board confronted fishy talk show host Ian Masters with evidence that he is the puppet of an unnamed intelligence agency. Listeners of KPFK may have heard Masters on his program yesterday maundering about unnamed adversaries who have "taken over the station," and are attempting to purge him. That is, Master's machinations at the station are failing, his grip on the station is slipping - anti-fascist activists have won seats on the advisory board, are aware that Masters is a CIA plant, and are fending off internal tactics by the glib talk show host to hold onto his microphone.

More on the Ian Masters debacle to come soon, possibly even a transcript of the said advisory board session. (One of my sources was at the meeting still has a copy of the transcript - despite the break-in of her car and theft of her computer.)

Tracy Larkins, a KPFK advisory board member, speaks in the e-mail below of a "crisis at KPFK." The time has come to confront COINTELPRO at Pacifica, excise it and prevent it from ever trying to usurp the public airwaves again.

APPEAL: Please support her effort to STOP CIA INFILTRATION OF THE PUBLIC AIRWAVES.

I'm not a "conspiracy theorist," and federal interference in progressive media continues and is well-documented. The TRUE struggle for Pacific Radio is just beginning, and it starts here.

Don't be a dupe.

CRISIS AT KPFK, PACIFICA - AGAIN ...

After September 11, 2001, Cynthia McKinney dared to ask Congress what Bush knew and when he knew it. ASK YOURSELF - Any updates about this on KPFK?

What's happened since?

Unfortunately, a handful of KPFK programmers have intentionally excluded some of the most powerful, bravest voices from our airwaves.

... The same folks have censored any fair, rational debate or discussion of such concerns since 911. YES - IT'S TRUE, some programmers go to great lengths to keep certain journalists, activists, investigators and the hardest truths exposing fraudulent pretexts for insane wars from you.

Censorship is easy when the listeners are unaware of what is being hidden...

SO IT'S NO SURPRISE THAT the same programmers who keep real debate and discussion from you are on the WAR PATH again, making concerted, malicious attacks upon the General Manager, Eva Georgia.

NOW WHY DO I MAKE THIS URGENT CALL FOR YOU TO SUPPORT KPFK?

Although these programmers who exclude others are deeply-entrenched at the Station and have had long time access to KPFK AIR, we must remember that KPFK is in democratic transition and attempting to redefine itself.

Despite these attempts to stall Pacifica's democratic beginnings, our reintroduction of programmers/audiences of color, and access to such strong voices, KPFK is moving forward. We are moving forward because of a courageous General Manager, Eva Georgia, who has stood her ground, held her head high, and continues to work toward positive goals, despite all the attempts to defame her and the progress she has made. Eva's empowerment of listeners, volunteers and grassroots voices helps build the democratic culture at Pacifica for which many of us have struggled long and hard. There is no greater threat to entrenched programmers than a democratic KPFK, powered by informed listeners.

WE NEED YOU, WE NEED YOU NOW! HELP US SUPPORT OUR GENERAL MANAGER IN THE QUEST TO BROADEN KPFK'S REACH, TO ALL COMMUNITIES. WE CAN DO IT - YOU AND I AND WE, THE COMMUNITY MAKING SURE KPFK IS RADIO POWERED BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE.
